The Mystical Charm of The Temple Town - Bhubaneswar

The capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar meaning “the lord of three worlds” derives its name from lord shiva or “Tribhuvaneswar”. Still boasting a plethora of magnificent temples, the city had 2000 temples gracing its land in the past thus earning it the nickname of the temple city. The temple complex also comprises shrines devoted to ochre-painted marble idols of Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva , Lord Ganesh and Radha Kishan. Ram Navami, Vivaha Panchami, Janmashtami, Dussehra, Shivaratri, Pana Sankranti are the major festivals celebrated here. 

Mukteswara Temple: Often referred to as the 'miniature gem of Odishan architecture'. The small temple is appreciated for the delicate, refined little structure. As the combination of old and new designs in the construction of the temple became essential features for the temples built later it is described as the  'harbinger of the new culture’.

RajaRani Temple: The temple  is believed to have been known originally as Indreswara. It is locally known as a "love temple" because of the amorous graves of women and couples in the temple and is one of the most renowned and famous temple in Bhubaneswar.
